Actor headshots

A headshot should make someone want to know more.

Actor headshots need more than technical perfection. They need presence, expression, and connection. The photograph should give a casting professional a clear sense of who might walk through the door.

Because your photographs appear on screen while we shoot, we can study small changes in expression and build on what is working. That makes the session collaborative rather than simply shooting hundreds of frames and sorting it out later.

Expression changes everything.

I guide you through range without asking you to invent it alone. Theatrical, commercial, and musician looks can live in the same session. We change wardrobe and light while you can still see what is working.

Create range without losing yourself.

Depending on what you need, we can explore different wardrobe, expression, background, and lighting choices while keeping the photographs believable and recognizably you.

For actors updating a portfolio, a Portrait Session can also incorporate three-quarter and full-length photographs and more creative lighting setups. That is a different shoot from a headshot hour: we change lighting, backdrops, and clothing, rather than repeating the same head-and-shoulders crop on a tripod.

Questions

Do we shoot more than one look?
Yes. Theatrical, commercial, and musician looks can live in the same session. We change wardrobe and light while you can still see what is working.
Can I see the frames before I leave?
That is the point of tethered capture. Images land on a computer in the studio. We review together. You leave knowing the shot, with no guesswork.
Are the files submission-ready?
Yes. Finished images are delivered at full resolution with web-sized versions, so they are ready for casting sites, agents, and your own pages.
When should I book a Portrait Session instead?
If you need three-quarter and full-length frames, more dramatic light, or props, book the Portrait Session. It is a different shoot from a headshot hour, with lighting, backdrops, and wardrobe changing through the session.
